Island Laboratories Inc.(ILI)  is a research and development company that is committed to commercialize its innovative topical lotions Stemcelex  for  activation of hair follicle stem cells on human scalp for hair growth. The follicle stem cells were also able to grow into skin cells, smooth muscle and pigment producing cells called melanocytes. These results suggest that hair follicle stem cells may provide an accessible source of stem cells for therapeutic application, and it would be important to compare the quality of hair follicle stem cells with stem cells derived from other sources.

Island labs (ILI) building upon its previous experiences of stem cells in hair re-growth research for the development of next generation targeted in expending its drug development efforts in the field of stem cell harvesting.
